The major limitation that it has (or rather had when I last used it about a year ago) is that it can't span a single dump/tar/whatever archive over multiple tapes. If your partition doesn't fit on a tape, you're pretty SOL. You might be able to hack around it by splitting things up a bit, but at the scale this guy's talking about it might not make a whole lot of sense.
