I don't have exact statistics but I believe it's fair to say that most users
currently use pre-built packages. And FreeBSD Foundation has enough money to
buy some more RAM.

As such, it would be beneficial to have smaller and faster binaries by defa=
ult.
People who build their own packages are free to disable LTO. It would be
obviously still opt-out, but if you build your own packages, you probably do
some customizations anyway.

So please just add an option (enabled by default) to use LTO and disable it=
 on
your own builders if that causes issues.
