And FreeBSD Foundation has enough money to buy some more RAM. As such, it would be beneficial to have smaller and faster binaries by defa= ult. People who build their own packages are free to disable LTO. It would be obviously still opt-out, but if you build your own packages, you probably do some customizations anyway.
