Linux is a UNIX-like operating system, like FreeBSD is. Althought,
FreeBSD is based on BSDi, and Linux is not. The fact that both OS's use
XFree and/or some other tools, doesn't mean they are the same thing.

If we think that way, UNIX wouldn't be a standard anymore, because all
UNIX-like OS's would be the *same* thing, right? But it's not. Every
UNIX-like OS has many individual characteristics, making each of them
different from other ones.

Yes, apparently, FreeBSD is almost the same stuff Linux is, but it's not
real. You have to use them more and more, until you can easily notice they
are very different between themselves. And then, you'll notice you cannot
live without any UNIX-like anymore. :-)

I do prefer FreeBSD and OpenBSD rather than Linux. Maybe that's because
Linux became too "We are Microsoft's enemy", and forgot it's a UNIX-like
for a while, but it's *my* opinion. Also, when I began using *BSD, I
noticed lots of little differences. Some are not that little, like
re-compiling the kernel. It's *tottaly* different. Well, the systems are
different, and the only one who can tell you that, is yourself. Try them. :-)

Stay always alarmed; if for even one second you don't know where your
enemy is, probably you're already dead.
