I never > got the modem and network working together Not possible with the PCCard support in 4.x, unfortunately. I beleieve that 5.0 will deal with multifunction cards correctly. The best you can do right now (without running -CURRENT) is to arrange some cunning scripts to set up pccard.conf for the function you want to use, then kill+restart pccardd to enable the card for that function. Still only lets you use one function at once, but at least you don't have to reboot... For the benefit of the archives, it turned out that Jürgen's original problem was that he was using a CardBus card, which are also not supported by 4.x.
