I'm not registered on any of the mailing lists and just now found your message... > You can try ftp://rusunix.org/pub/FreeBSD/patches/dsp.1.67-1.70.patch > It works fine for my 5.2.1-RELEASE I tried this but got exactly the same results. This is becoming very frustrating; nothing I do changes the problems I'm having with sound!!! I applied your patch and then rebuilt all the sound modules. As snd_maestro3.ko seemed not to be changed I simply replaced the snd_pcm.ko file under /boot/kernel and rebooted. This is what I had done successfully under 5.2-RELEASE but I'm having *ZERO* luck now. Am I missing something obvious here? I even booted a GENERIC kernel just to see if it was something I built in. No dice. Do you have any ideas? I'm completely baffled... Sean
