Try to save an IDE drive? yeah right. What follows is the boot dmesg log. I have tried bad144 before but I want to try this: 1) find and map the bad spot using Partition Magic. equals smaller wd2. 2) try bad144 again. After the above step. 3) live with it and rename any file(s) to BAD.BLOCK.ddmmyy 4) new drive Question; this message (below) tells me to get a new drive because "fsbn 0" cannot have errors?? wd2: wdcontrol: wdcommand failed reading fsbn 0 (status ef<busy,rdy,wrtflt,drq,ecc_cor,index,err> error 0) -----start of dmesg ------- Copyright (c) 1992-1999 FreeBSD Inc.
