Sounds like you need to explicitly specify the interface(s) and netmasks that samba is to use on your machine. I don't know your IP and netmask, so I'll give you my example. My machine's ip(s) are 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.245, my netmask is 255.255.255.0.
