I have been unable to use my Lexmark Optra 312 (USB) with FreeBSD (w/cups) because there is so often a page of "trash" printed before a print job begins. This ONLY happens on FreeBSD and not on Linux 2.4 (w/cups). I have posted about it here before, but never a response, but now I have found this nearly three year old reference to the very same problem and I was hoping somebody in the know might understand how a fix could be made to the FreeBSD lpt or ulpt driver. http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-kern/2001/02/08/0019.html Thanks in advance, Tom Veldhouse
