Here are the specs of this system: Form Factor : Shuttle Form Factor CPU Socket : Intel Socket 478, support 533/800MHz FSB HT CPU Chipsets : North bridge:Intel 875P, South bridge:ICH5-R Memory Socket : DDR 333/400 * 2 (Dual Channel) On Board VGA : None On Board Audio : Realtek ALC650 6 channel audio Expansion Slot : PCI * 1 8X AGP * 1 IDE interface : ATA-100 / Serial ATA I am totally unconcerned about the audio, but am very concerned about the IDE. I don't care if I have to set the thing into compatibility mode and I'm not planning to use any exotic RAID modes (I know FreeBSD 4.x has very little / no SATA support) but I'm wondering if it'll work at all. Oh, I'm planning to use a WD SATA drive, if that matters. If anyone has this system, are there any BIOS settings to set? I have had issues with older shuttles that worked around very nicely when I turned off ultra-DMA ... is this another one of those situations? Second, is FreeBSD 5.1's native SATA support usable? What about its support of this chipset (i875p)? Thank you very much for any assistance, Brian Costello
