Aha, that was the problem. I just downloaded another copy of the patchfile, and this one seems correct (it has the dmainit() function at least). Perhaps my browser had cached the old file? Hmm... no, the two patch files are different in size. I don't know what happened. Anyway, trying again, with a new cvsup and a fresh patchfile.
