In the part where you chat with the phone and dial (the set dial command)
change the init string and it should work fine. For example:

  set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \
           \"\" AT OK-AT-OK ATE1Q0M0 OK \\dATDT\\T TIMEOUT 40 CONNECT"
