Actually, the Communist leaders were quite smart and very good at exploiting others. There's an old saying: "Under Communism, man exploits man, but under capitalism it's the other way around." Stallman merely uses some of the misleading rhetoric that the Communists used. He does this because it has historically proven to be effective. I am convinced that he would use WHATEVER would work, just so it hurt the people who he mistakenly believes once hurt him.
