 I have given up on a CD install...

 At this point; I have a P2B with a "real" AHA2940U2W - and a nice
Yamaha CD-RW.

 If you succeed in a 3.3-INSTALL with that, I'd be really interested
in knowing - perhaps it's just my CD that's bad, and a different 3.3-RELEASE
CD wouldn't have the problem....
