I find this (tcsh) alias useful as it strips lots of the cruft: (chdir /usr/ports; make search name=!:1 | egrep '^Port|^Info|^Path|^$') The actual alias line is far more hideous to account for the quotes: alias portname '(chdir /usr/ports; make search name=\!:1 | egrep '"'"'^Port|^Info|^Path|^$'"'"')' and similar for portkey. --Alex
