The following reply was made to PR ports/154655; it has been noted by GNATS. He was 55. I have been handling his email since then, and on the ast-users list there is a new version of ksh93 (echo $KSH_VERSION gives "Version JM 93u 2011-02-08"). Changeing the line "VERSION= 2010-03-09" to "VERSION= 2011-02-08" in /usr/ports/shells/ksh93/Makefile and running "make makesum" allows it to build, and AFAIKT it works properly. I believe $SOMEONE should make this change to the port and commit it. I don't trust my patch fu to JustDoIt myself. I have known Joe for 36 years, and he introduced me to freeBSD in 1999. I will watch his email for things like this, but I am not sure I know enough to be the maintainer (even though this one looks easy). Let me know what people decide.
