Would you beleive it? The reason I adopted the practice of omitting
unused
parameters in the first place, was because the compiler used to warn me 
about it (this was back in the 3.x days). 

I've just discovered that the version of cc/gcc (2.95.3) that comes with

4.3-RELEASE doesn't care if I do or I don't, (with any -W settings) :-/

So which compiler/version are you using?
