Hi, I like to use a FreeBSD 2.0.5-RELEASE as router on our net for some days, due to reorganizing work. I use only one Ethercard, so the second Ip (B-class) for this router is an alias. I have done this without problems on a BSDi, but there seem to be some differences with FreeBSD, which I am too blind to see. The systems works fine after the standard ifconfig and the "ifconfig ed0" shows: ed0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 193.80.96.200 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 193.80.96.255 ether 00:00:c0:72:ad:a3 What I do then is : "ifconfig ed0 inet 132.147.160.200 alias" which gives me those Routing tables after a reboot Internet: Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif Expire 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 0 0 lo0 132.147 link#1 UC 0 0 193.80.96 link#1 UC 0 0 193.80.96.1 0:0:c0:35:f7:6a UHLW 1 48 ed0 1179 193.80.96.100 8:0:1b:33:a:c9 UHLW 1 18 ed0 1160 193.80.96.200 0:0:c0:72:ad:a3 UHLW 0 176 lo0 224 link#1 UCS 0 0 but routing does not work. What do I oversee ? Thanks for Your help, anton Please answer directly, cause I am not on Your list. -- Office address (Vienna Airport) : Private address : Co.
