Hi Johannes, Are you using the packaged Xorg in both cases? Currently, the default = for 10 is the old (pre-KMS) X.org and the default for 11 (HEAD) is the = newer (post-KMS) one. If you're using the default one, would you mind = trying the new one? You can build it from ports by putting this in your = make.conf: WITH_NEW_XORG=3Dyes WITH_GALLIUM=3Dyes I'm currently running it with AMD graphics on 10-RC4 and finding it = works a lot better than the older version, and we're considering = enabling it for the 10.0-RELEASE. The down side is that, without = newcons, you lose working VTs after X has started.
