Hi, I have a dual Xion 2.4 with 2Gb of RAM SuperMicro 6023P-8 system . It came with Adaptec 320 SCSI card AIC79XX which I'm having trouble with. I've installed RedHat 8.0 with no problems, I had to supply the driver for the SCSI card separately though. After I updated the kernel (kernel-smp-2.4.20-28.8.i686.rpm) , system wouldn't boot from the new kernel. (See the message below). It's coming up no problem with the old kernel 2.4.18-14smp. I also tried to install aic79xx-2.0.2-rh80.i686.rpm supplied by Adaptec, it produced the following message: "***PROBLEM*** No prebuilt module for 2.4.20-28.8smp i686" Please explain how to make the new kernel work with the SCSI card. I couldn't find any good references on how to do it. Thanks in advance.
