Hello, With reference to another message I found: > My /etc/pccard.conf has: > > card "DYNALINK" "L10C" > config 0x20 "ed1" ? > ether 0xff0 > insert echo PCMCIA Ethernet inserted > insert /etc/pccard_ether ed0 > remove echo PCMCIA Ethernet removed > remove /sbin/ifconfig ed0 delete > > As far as I can see /etc/pccard_ether should get the ifconfig values > out of rc.conf. Or does this only work if you insert the card *after* > boot? I have got FreeBSD 4.1 on a Toshiba Intel Celeron lap with D-LINK 650 ethernet card. The card is inserted AFTER setting up the network. As a consequence, shell scripts put in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ which need this card setup, will not work properly (f.e. ifconfig.sh, samba.sh or others). Is there a way to do card insertion at an earlier stage of booting? Many thanks in advance for your ideas! Regards, -brt , I posted my message yesterday. I have not got any clues so far. Did you achieve the resolve the problem? If yes, please drop a note. Many thanks in advance! -brt ------- End of forwarded message ------- Bert Hiddink, FUNDACION GALILEO Correo electronico: hiddink@galileo.or.cr Sitio: http://www.galileo.or.cr Tel.
