After upgradeing to fetchmail 6.3.0 I have the following lines in the fechtmail logfile:

fetchmail: Fehler bei Server-Zertifikat-Überprüfung: unable to get local issuer certificate
fetchmail: Fehler bei Server-Zertifikat-Überprüfung: certificate not trusted
fetchmail: Fehler bei Server-Zertifikat-Überprüfung: unable to verify the first certificate

fetchmailrc (one entry):

poll pop.foo.de proto pop3 no dns
  user "foomail"       is "foo" 
      sslproto tls1 
	  sslfingerprint "...foo...." ssl;

Every time when fetchmail fetches via pop3
