You can install and have both MS and FreeBSD.  You install the boot
manager and select which one to boot.  The other one is still on the
disk.

Look at the handbook at www.freebsd.org/handbook, part 1, section 2.
Look at the FAQ at www.freebsd.org/FAQ, items 2.6, 2.7, and, 2.8.
Look at the multi-os tutorial at www.freebsd.org/tutorials.
Look at all the *.TXT files at
  ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/2.2.6-RELEASE.

If you read these documents, they will answer most, if not all,
questions about getting and installing FreeBSD.
