Hi ! What would you think about introducing three new variables into the ports mechanism ?! HOMEPAGE, AUTHOR and MAILINGLIST ?! Background: Quite often I'd like to have a comfortable way to go to the homepage of a software product to look for new informations and releases of the software. Additionally I'd like to have sometimes an easy way, to lookup the e-mail Adresss of the author of a software package to ask him questions or to send him patches. Sometimes it would be an extra bonus to have the possibility to send a question to the mailinglist for this port. Other advantages: Once we'd had these three variables, they could be used to add some more user friendlyness to our WWW pages in the ports area. What do you think about this ? Like to hear from you ...
