Therefore I am wondering if we are getting something wrong on the VLAN
offloads.  If you can test with main or stable/{12,13} with the above patch=

be curious too.

To help me orient on this, can you provide a toy rc.conf or sequence of
ifconfig commands to build the "wrong" topology that triggers the bug?
