On 2002-08-15, Defryn, Guy scribbled: # I am trying to install ISC DHCP # # I have downloaded the latest version from the ISC website # # After extracting the file I run # # ./configure # # make # # make install # # I don't get errors and followed the guidelines on the website. # # However, It does not seem to work. # # I think the dhcpd is located in /usr/sbin and I created a startup script and a config file Check the syslog for any error messages. Also, are there any errors that come up in the console when you attempt to run the dhcp daemon manually? There is a port for ISC-DHCP located under /usr/ports/net, though it is 3.0.1rc9 and not 3.0p1. This may be a shameless plug, but I've written an article on how to get ISC-DHCP3 up and running under FreeBSD.
