Er.....calm down! Okay, so the release has slipped a few days - the people
working on this are volunteers working in their own time, and are aiming to
make 4.4-RELEASE as stable and bug free as is realistically possible. Would
you rather have the code on a set day or have it bug free?

A CVSup'd version of FreeBSD, taken from the -STABLE branch, will be the
very latest stable code available, so if it's so critical for you to deploy
then do so now using 4.3-RELEASE and then CVSup - there will be no major
feature changes (in fact, other than slight bux fixes, there will be no
changes whatsoever, if I understand the code freeze process correctly)
between the current -STABLE branch and the 4.4-RELEASE snapshot whenever it
happens.

And when it does happen, you can CVSup your install to it.

Personally, I'm still amazed by the quality, stability, and professionalism
of the entire FreeBSD project, given that it is almost entirely in
existance through the work of volunteers and people contributing what
help/code/etc they can. I can't understand this sort of insistance on "why
didn't this happen yesterday?" or "how can this have happened?" - just be
happy that thanks to the efforts of these wonderful people, you can use a
free (in all senses of the word) OS which is stable, featurefull and bug
free.

Mark
