It seems that it is fbsd 4.10 specific problem, since I have pureftpd 1.0.20 pw commands working fine on fbsd 5.2.1 >How-To-Repeat: just make install the port on 4.10-Release and try something like pure-pw useradd joe -u ftpuser -d /home/ftpusers/joe >Fix: Not known yet. Looks like it is specific to the version 1.0.20 of the port, since 1.0.18 works fine on the same machine.
