I'd start looking at hardware. -Chris > -----Original Message----- > From: Wayne Self [SMTP:wself@value.net] > Sent: Thursday, November 04, 1999 1:39 PM > To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org > Subject: wd1/wd3 errors > > > Are there any known issues with large ide drives on the same controller? > The drives in the "master" position work fine, however, the "slave" drives > give the errors i've included in this posting. > > The drives that give these errors work fine in the master position, but as > soon as they are used in the slave position, the errors occur. > > MB: Tyan S1590 > CPU: AMD K6 3D 450mhz > OS: FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE > WD0: Fujitsu MPD3108AT (10G) > WD1: Fujitsu MPD3108AT (10G) > WD2: Fujitsu MPD3108AT (10G) > WD3: Fujitsu MPD3108AT (10G) > > - [ /var/log/messages ] - > > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdcontrol: recal failed reading > fsbn 0 (status 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdunwedge failed (status > 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdcontrol: recal failed reading > fsbn 0 (status 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdunwedge failed (status > 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdcontrol: recal failed reading > fsbn 0 (status 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdunwedge failed (status > 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdcontrol: recal failed reading > fsbn 0 (status 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdunwedge failed (status > 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdcontrol: recal failed reading > fsbn 0 (status 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: wdunwedge failed (status > 7f error > 7f) > Nov 4 09:45:13 scratch1 /kernel: wd3: error reading primary partition > table reading fsbn 0 > > - [ /var/log/messages ] - > > Thanks, > > - wayne To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
