The implementation of virtual categories has a few interesting challenges, the most perplexing of which is the category description. For non-virtual categories, the pkg/COMMENT file contains the description which FreshPorts can easily obtain and use (e.g. archivers/pkg/COMMENT) For virtual categories, it appears the only source of this information is http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859- 1/books/porters-handbook/makefile-categories.html#PORTING-CATEGORIES Given a virtual category name, what method exists to obtain the category description? cheers -- Dan Langille : http://www.langille.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
