Yes, of course it does.

After booting the system, plug in the device and issue "dmesg";
the last few lines should indicate the device name given to the
drive. It will be something like /dev/da0 or /dev/cd0. You can
then use "mount" and the known recording commands (cdrecord,
cdrdao, growisofs, etc.) in combination with that device.
