I can finger any user on my machine FROM my machine just fine. However when I attempt to finger from outside my machine I get the following: lambic> finger brett@peloton.physics.montana.edu [peloton.physics.montana.edu] finger: permission denied Fingerd is started up in my inetd.conf in secure mode and if you attempt to finger from the outside w/ a: finger @peloton.physics.montana.edu you get the standard message that a username must be supplied. Any ideas on what's happening here? Thanks in advance for any help! ********************************************************* Brett Taylor brett@peloton.physics.montana.edu http://peloton.physics.montana.edu/brett/ With the time I waste on a life I never had I could have turned myself into a better man. - Toad the Wet Sprocket
