Hey Dan,

Have you tried rebuilding that systems man pages?

# cd /usr/src/share/man/ && make clean all install

That may fix it, or did you perhaps set any of these variables in 
your /etc/make.conf:

 NOSHARE
 NOMANCOMPRESS
