Hello FBSDers, I just recently acquired a Quantum Trailblazer 840S (P/N TR84S011) Unfortunately, I have no specs on it. Anyways, I have it installed into an external unit, connected to the IOMEGA Zip-Drive SCSI controller card. >From the online material I got from http://www.quantum.com, I was able to decipher the factory default settings: PK = spare = off TE = Termination Enable = ON A2 = ON, A1 = ON, A0=OFF, so my SCSI ID = 6 By the way, The cable from my IOMEGA Controller card is a Male D25 to 50-pin Male Centronics. The Terminator which I am using costs me $4.95 at the local computer discount store. Problem: Drive is not recogized at start up. I ran the IOMEGA SCSICFG (Scsi Config) utility to probe for the hard disk, but it was not detected... Questions: 1. Is this particular Quantum drive a Fast SCSI-2 Drive? 2. Am I using the correct type of terminator? [$4.95 is too cheap??] I apologize for these silly questions. I'm breaking into the world of SCSI and leaving IDE behind... TIA, Trung --
