Hi.

  Are you running FreeBSD 9.0? If yes, it seems that cdparanoia is
  broken because of some changes inside kernel, specifically, changes in
  scsi interfaces. If you have your system upgraded to 9.0, but not
  recompiled cdparanoia, you might run into some problems.
