Any decent support of Java would have to include GUI-related routines. What Apple needs to do for Java in MacOS 10 (which is to say, "Quartz/Aqua") is not going to be of any use when it comes to FreeBSD (which is to say, "X windowing system"). Now, Apple may want to support Java for Darwin, or maybe the Darwin community outside of Apple may want to make that happen. I am just noting that the Java-related work Apple does for MacOS 10 may not be of much help for Java on other BSD's. --- Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@eclipse.acs.rpi.edu Senior Systems Programmer or drosih@rpi.edu Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message
