How about
echo `ifconfig tun0 | tail -1 | awk '{print $2}'`
or write it to a file
echo `ifconfig tun0 | tail -1 | awk '{print $2}'` > /etc/myip
or do this and use it in a script
setenv MYIP `ifconfig tun0 | tail -1 | awk '{print $2}'`
