I tried to install 2.0.5 from a ufs filesystem, but the install program complained of crc errors in the distribution files. After disabling wide mode the install worked fine. If I try to boot 2.0.5 with wide mode enabled, the kernel loads and probes the hardware, but init dies when it tries to start up, with repeated errors that I unfortunately didn't save but can reproduce if it will help. 2.0.5 runs fine with wide mode disabled. Note I earlier had 2.0-950412-SNAP running with wide mode enabled, although I got numerous scsi timeout errors unless I disabled scsi disconnects. I have a quantum atlas 2 gig fast/wide scsi 2 disk and sony dat tape drive attached to the 2940w. Thanks for any help you can give me, Bob
