Please try a 'like for like' comparison - i.e. run:

  dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3Dtest.dat bs=3D64k count=3D20480

(Will consume ~1.2Gb of disk space) and see what that comes back with. It's
still not a  'proper' test but will at least give us a comparison between y=
our
system - and here (both running the same command).
