if I ping from my FreeBSD 5.2.1 box to my adsl gatwway (OpenBSD 3.3) I got normal results: ping juno.hidden.org 64 bytes from 172.16.16.254: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=0.232 ms 64 bytes from 172.16.16.254: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=0.203 ms 64 bytes from 172.16.16.254: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=0.184 ms 64 bytes from 172.16.16.254: icmp_seq=3 ttl=255 time=0.186 ms 64 bytes from 172.16.16.254: icmp_seq=4 ttl=255 time=0.186 ms if I use traceroute: traceroute to juno.hidden.org (172.16.16.254), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets 1 juno (172.16.16.254) 437.349 ms -436.602 ms 0.438 ms how this can be ? the RTT looks complitely scrwed is it a tracerotue issue of FreeBSD? tracerouting from other hosts I do not have this problem. thanks Rick
