Not only bento.  Many FreeBSD users set CPUTYPE in their make.conf's
and ports should be aware of that.  You can put CFLAGS:=${CFLAGS:N-m*}
in Makefile to exclude machine dependent flags from CFLAGS. (I'm not
sure if that's enough, though)
