I am running 4.1.1 stable and trying to get samba working with 98. I got the latest version of Samba witch I believe = is 2.0.7 and edited the config file. I get the following error when running smbstatus = ****=20 frogger# smbstatus Couldn't open status file /var/spool/lock/STATUS..LCK frogger#=20 ***** also when I try and run samba by doing a /usr/local/etc/rc.d/samba.sh . It wont let me do it unless I am root and it does change the prompt = from frogger to Sambafrogger. So I dont know if I am close or not to get it working.
