Yes, and like I stated, I consider it a major violation of POLA if some port installs binaries with names that are like system names, especially if it's automatically pulled in (ie, I didn't ask for CUPS, I asked for Samba). All GNU ports get renamed to avoid this problem (GNU make, GNU ls, etc.). Whatever way it is solved, *I* can use the WITH_CUPS option to configure Sa= mba to my wishes. However, I think that the packaged version of Samba is import= ant to FreeBSD as well. I haven't heard from that many CUPS users lately. Are there numbers available about CUPS usage?
