Hi I've managed to get k3b to compile I hope with HAL support. I had to edit the Makefile, as there is no option on the config gui:- CONFIGURE_ARGS= --with-k3bsetup=yes --without-resmgr --with-hal Hal is built, but not running. and I can't see anything in the handbook on manually starting a daemon, hald. At the moment k3b is not seeing the DVD writer, Sony GW120 dual layer. Even with the drive mounted k3b can't find it. Does k3b work ?. This is getting very frustrating, Openffice has been compiling for the last 5 hrs and still hasn't finish, and knowing my luck it will probably fail to build again. So I'm stuck with a system that I can now play music on, the USB flash stick is not mounting, I can use some Ham apps, I can send e-mail and receive it, but if I want to save a file on media, either CD or DVD, the only way at the moment is to ftp to a site, reboot into linux and ftp it back. I can't write to the ext3 linux partition as its read only I haven't pluged my camera in to a USB port yet, but I'm beginning to wonder if the memory cad will be seen. Suggestions ? I suspect one will be go back to linux -- Best Wishes Richard Bown ---- ################################################## OS: FreeBSD 7.0, AMD64 x2 Dual Core 4400+, 8GB RAM HAM CALL: G8JVM, QRA IO82SP, located 75 kms NE Birmingham UK QRV HF + all bands 50 MHz to 10 GHZ www.software-radio.org.uk ##################################################
