I am looking for suggestions as to what tests I should be doing between these machines to be able to assess whether there are any performance differences between these two setups. I will be doing ttcp tests and flood pings and well as nfs copies and ng_ether_echo timings. I'd also like to get some suggestions from others, as to what tests might be useful. Be specific please i.e. {program + arguments to test). The two machines are identical and will always being the same kernel at the same time. basic cpu specs below.. ===================== CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz (2788.47-MHz 686-class CPU) Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0xf29 Stepping = 9 Features=0xbfebfbff Features2=0x4400 Logical CPUs per core: 2 real memory = 3221094400 (3071 MB) avail memory = 3153461248 (3007 MB) ACPI APIC Table: ===================== thanks Julian
