I was wondering about this ... there was a thread not too long ago about Darwin and FreeBSD. Somebody made the point that code seems to go into Darwin but no code is returned. It occurred to me that open source is like an ethical choice inasmuch as when one chooses the more ethical option they’re not always looking to further their own desires - sometimes they are simply shooting themselves in the foot. Is this a strong point or a weak point of open source?
