Upon startup, it would display the gray box where it usually shows the splash-screen, and then hang hard. The mouse would continue to move, but I couldn't click on any other windows, using key-chords to switch Fluxbox to a different desktop wouldn't work, and using control+alt+F1 to go to the text console also failed. Tapping the power button had no effect and required the hold-it-down-for-five-seconds to kill the machine. I didn't have another machine on at the time to test if I could ping my FreeBSD box. After some troubleshooting, it appears to have been my ~/.config/GIMP directory. Renaming that to _GIMP allowed me to start it uneventfully. The configuration directory had no manual changes, only things that GIMP saw fit to write there through normal use. I've tgz'ed up my ~/.config/GIMP directory and posted it[1] (redacting my local username from a comment in themerc and didn't include two backups/backup-00?.xcf files but can provide those if they're suspect) and have included my dmesg[2] (taken after the hang/reboot) If there's any other info that would be helpful, I can try and capture requisite information. I asked about this on Reddit[3] and was advised to mention the issue to the listed maintainer because hard-hang bugs are considered serious. So here's my bug report. _____ [1] http://old.thechases.com/tmp/config_gimp.tgz [2] http://old.thechases.com/tmp/freebsd_dmesg.txt [3] https://www.reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/1ffwdgt/gimp_causing_hard_hang_on= _freebsd_133p6/ --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
