I decided it was about time to upgrade to the latest version. Unfortunately, when booting from my new upgraded system it systematically crashes. I then tried to boot from the set of floppies from either 4.5 or 4.4 version it always crash as soon as I select "Start Installation". However, booting with the old 4.3 set of floppies works just fine. So something wrong has been introduced in the 4.4 version The screen shows the following: --- pci0: on pcib0 pcib1: at device 1.0 on pci0 pci1: on pcib1 chip1: at device 2.0 on pci0 pci0: at 3.0 pci_cfgintr_virgin: using routable interrupt 3 Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0xef73a fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc00ef4c0 stack pointer = 0x10:0xc06b8d6a frame pointer = 0x10:oxc06b8d6c code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 0 (swapper) interrupt mask = net tty bio cam trap number = 12 panic: page fault Uptime: 0s Automatic reboot in 15 seconds --- When looking at the kernel configuration from the floppies, IRQ 12 is the PS/2 mouse controller. I tried to disable everything and to change this IRQ without any luck, I always get the same message. What should I do, any help will be highly appreciated.
