Hello,

I've been using 7.1-RELEASE i386 for some time now, and I have noticed some
minor issuses with the acpi_ibm driver.

The fan does not reach it's full potential: with dev.acpi_ibm.0.fan=0 and
dev.acpi_ibm.0.fan_level=7 i get ~3300 RPM, whereas with
dev.acpi_ibm.0.fan=1 I get ~3100 RPM. During a long compile this get the
temperature up over 90 degrees Centigrade, which is not so nice.

On linux and windows I can get the fan up to 4600 RPM if i disable the fan
controller and just let the fan run att full speed. In FreeBSD I can't
disable the fan controller.

The lcd_brightness is not updated if I use Fn+Home or Fn+End to change the
brightness, but setting the values via sysctl changes the brightness.

The volume is not updated when sound level is changed, nor does the volume
up/down/mute have any effect.

The sound and brightness are not as important, just annoying...

Best regards

Andreas Nilsson
