Hey! I'm using the aic7xxx driver with a linux mandrake in a machine where a megaraid card is installed for hard drives and an adaptec 39160 card is installed for driving a tape library The scsi_mod is loaded at startup at the top of the scsi modules For the hard drives (raid 5) : The sd_mod (for hard drives) is loaded depending from the scsi_mod the megaraid module is loaded depending from the sd_mod For the tape only the aic7xxx is loaded automatically (the st module is not loaded). Is it normal ? Have I to load this st module ? If yes how can I explain to aic7xxx to load the st module first (normaly the aic7xxx is depending from the st module)using an option of modprobe for example? Here is the result of lsmod: Module Size Used by Not tainted st 33304 0 (unused) aic7xxx 130184 2 udf 100896 0 (autoclean) floppy 59580 0 (autoclean) ide-cd 36548 0 (autoclean) cdrom 35360 0 (autoclean) [ide-cd] sg 38012 2 (autoclean) autofs4 12916 2 (autoclean) nfsd 83280 8 (autoclean) af_packet 16872 1 (autoclean) tg3 58124 1 (autoclean) eepro100 23892 1 (autoclean) mii 4204 0 (autoclean) [eepro100] supermount 87328 2 (autoclean) usb-ohci 23720 0 (unused) usbcore 83436 1 [usb-ohci] rtc 10828 0 (autoclean) reiserfs 219988 1 sd_mod 12860 6 megaraid 28392 3 scsi_mod 100032 5 [st aic7xxx sg sd_mod megaraid] Amicalement, FX THEODULE INSERM ERM 0206/TAGC Campus de Luminy 163 AVENUE DE LUMINY - CASE 928 13288 Marseille Cedex 9 Tel 04 91 82 75 24 Mel theodule@marseille.inserm.fr
