It deosn't help that it's plug'n'pray either! :) Well, if you want to use your card in FreeBSD you are free to do it, but if you want to play Doom and hear everything, you should apply patches. In Doom FAQ you can find notice that only SB 16 is supported. I also have ESS 1868 chip on my sound card (but without wavetable) and it is reported as SB Pro 3.1 on boot. If you want more info how implement changes to have music and fx in Doom, mail me. It works even with 8 bit SB clones!!!. > >Thanks, > >- -Taff. > > Aled Treharne felix@royal.net >"Big Bird meets Salvador Dali has been brought to you by the numbers L and > ), and by the letter 3." > For PGP Public key finger taff@blue.bad.bris.ac.uk > >#include(std.disclaim) > > >-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- >Version: 2.6.3i >Charset: noconv > >iQCVAwUBNH7XtcaJukNO1flNAQG4iAP+Nzms31DIw3iWZU7/CsWXOeq898FT0m89 >DbHQiiybliqWPvhI190dna4SUGRLmPeY8V14lbXZvKS+WttPF6o+shY0XAeMPSCj >nCAUAZZU+lvOKsMI6zj0zOJXFapnEa60n9L4Fl8KqOVZx6rjGHBJXrAum2PcKZDu >x7ysQd61nLI= >=YSJV >-----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Mariusz "verba volant, scripta manent"
